Overview
Supervisors in organisations take on the responsibility to support and develop staff members. Motivational interviewing as a supervision style involves the same spirit, processes, and techniques used to foster development and change and offers a path to successful supervisor/staff relationships. In turn, positive supervisor/staff relationships can lead to higher morale and positive workplaces. In this workshop we consider how to approach staff supervision using a strength-based, collaborative and an autonomy supportive style based on experience and insights from Motivational Interviewing. This should be of interest to people who have responsibility to support and supervise staff in health and social care.
Completion of the SDF Introduction to Motivational Interviewing training is a requirement for attendance.
