Reducing Harm for People Who Inject Drugs
This session will take place via Microsoft Teams and is aimed at frontline staff working in IEP settings.
Aim
To raise awareness of the AIR tool (Assessment of Injecting Risk) and how it can be used to reduce injecting related harm including overdose, injecting related wounds and complications, blood-borne viruses, and other harms experienced by people who inject drugs.
Learning Outcomes
- To gain knowledge of the AIR tool, and its use in practice.
- To have increased awareness of how drug related harms can be reduced.
- Increased confidence in discussing wounds people who inject drugs might experience.
- Have increased knowledge of the factors that can influence infection of bacteria and viruses.
