Safer Injecting and Route Transition

Please note that this training will be held via MS Teams. A link will be emailed to you approximately 2 days before training. 

Aim – The purpose of this training is to raise confidence in practitioners who work with ipeople who inject drugs to raise the topic of transitioning away from injecting to foil use, other methids of using drugs and other harm reduction initiatives.   

As a result of this session the participants will: 

• Have an understanding as to why people may move to injecting drug use and the barriers that may present to returning to potentially less risky methods of drug use. 
• Have increased confidence in their ability to raise the topic of route transition. 
• Will be able to describe different methods of drug use. 

This session will cover the basics of safer injecting, and will discuss alternative methods of using drugs as well as risk reduction advice.
