Cannabis 1 Day Session
Aim
To support practitioners to better understand the current situation with available cannabis and cannabinoids and to gain a greater understanding of how to intervene when working with people using cannabis.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Give an overview of the current trends which cannabis including synthetic cannabinoids.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the variety of cannabis forms, species and strains.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the main cannabinoids within cannabis and the potential impacts of these on effects and side-effects.
- Describe the relationship between cannabis and mental health issues.
- Describe the role of cannabis in poly-drug use.
- Identify the typical presenting issues for problematic cannabis/synthetic cannabinoid use.
- Recall effective interventions and techniques for working with cannabis/synthetic cannabinoid users including harm reduction.
